Wilhelm Liebenberg and Caroline Sirois founded the upscale coffee and café company Coco Safar, which was created in Cape Town but designed and manufactured worldwide. Coco Safar just inaugurated a new flagship location in South Africa.
The recently opened Cocosafar in Johannesburg already exudes that sensation of reunion, especially if you’re a fan of Paris or are just motivated by travel. We spoke with Wilhelm Liebenberg, the founder of the company, while sipping exquisite hot chocolate prepared with Valrhona chocolate on a gorgeous Friday morning. You can stop in for a brief visit or spend hours there, choosing from a posh menu that transports you and offers breakfast, lunch, and coffee options. Either way, everything is taken care of the Cocosafar way, so you can let your days drift by worry-free. They are surrounded by decor that tells a story: gorgeous floral and plant arrangements, Cocosafar signs, and the signature scent of a French bakery.

Review from guest : Thabile Mahlangu,
“The opulent cafe presents French culture in an African setting. Because it was a chilly day and we were seated outside, the staff went out of their way to offer us blankets to keep warm. The service was excellent, and they pay great attention to detail when it comes to providing excellent customer service. As a benefit for people who are health conscious, their hot beverages do not require sweeteners because they have already infused them into their teas, coffee beans, and cocoa beans.”
Even if I am busy and packed, I have to constantly remind myself that I need to remember the vision, and the vision is all about connection. It’s about pausing for a moment to savor. The occasion is Cocosafar.
