A sentiment embraced by Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng , when you meet her and I’ve had the opportunity already on two occasions to engage her on her thoughts and wisdom – she is a collection of knowledge, experience and an atmosphere of primordial intelligence and whimsical beauty. I see how she inspire all who come in contact with her.
Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng is a highly regarded B1 NRF-rated scientist with over 80 research papers and five edited volumes published. She has been invited to deliver over 30 keynote/plenary talks at international conferences, and as a visiting professor in universities around the world. She is the newly appointed vice-chancellor at UCT, prioritising transformation and building a legacy of black excellence.
