Please see our interview with Tashas below:
- What was the motivation behind the introduction the new refreshed addition to the Tasha’s Classic menu?
We’ve always had a strong focus on plant-based dishes, but now we’re really shining a light on them. The new dishes on our Classic Menu reflect feedback from our customers – a continuing shift to healthier eating, vegan options or a flexitarian approach to vegetarianism – and the option to add in protein. We are always looking to innovate.
- What is Tasha’s food philosophy?
Our food is made using the freshest ingredients, it is made-on-order and you are guaranteed great service, in a beautiful space. The new dishes embody this philosophy of using the best ingredients and are made to order. Nothing is pre-made or pre-cut so that the taste, vibrancy and freshness of every ingredient is retained. To ensure we deliver this, we have an “army” in each tashas kitchen, and we’re continually training our team about the ingredients and processes.
- What type of dishes can guest expect?
All of the new dishes are vegetarian with an option to add a protein. The new dishes also combine seasonal flavours and textures and are designed to be bursting with flavour in every bite.

- What do you think sets Tasha’s menus apart from others?
Our food is made using the freshest ingredients, it is made-on-order and you are guaranteed great service, in a beautiful space.
- How do you think Tasha’s helps elevate the culinary scene in South Africa and how do you keep up with the trends in the industry and is it important?
Tashas pursues excellence in everything we do. We make fresh food to order, using only the best ingredients. We ensure our service is top-notch with rigorous hands-on training. Our restaurant spaces are beautifully designed, and we ensure authenticity in everything we do.
- Is it an important factor in the ever-changing restaurant industry where people demand ‘more than just food’ when eating out, especially now with the pandemic and the lockdown?
Absolutely, and that’s why we are continually reinvesting into our business. The most important thing is always offering a first-class experience from the food to the service, to the space. We also need to stay relevant and so a number of the SA-based tashas stores are being revamped to make sure we stay on trend. tashas Bedfordview is being revamped and Le Parc by tasha’s in Hyde Park is being reenergised with a new look and being turned into a one-of-a-kind food emporium.
