I would imagine this is what the Garden of Eden looked like minus the snake and apple tree…Adam and Eve found resolve in sanctuary of peace, relaxation and the goodness of treatments offered by Woodland Spa in Muldersdrift, that’s what I think when envision the Woodlands Spa… In a world that emphasizes immediate gratification and fast pace, nothing beats a moment to take a beat and reconnect; Woodlands Spa makes self-care worth pressing the pause button…possibly a few times, and not just another task…but a priority. Lishe spent a morning soaking in the scenery, enjoying a massage treatment with rejuvenating aromatherapy oils from qualified therapists and had both a scrumptious and nutritious breakfast and lunch at their Riverside Cafe; at Woodlands wellness is holistic.

Reiki Session:

“Reiki is a spiritual healing practice which originated in Japan in the early 20th century, and is built on the belief that the body is innately able to heal itself. The word “reiki” loosely translates to “universal life energy” — an energy which practitioners believe exists within, and surrounds, each body — and the practice involves transmitting or balancing that energy, through the specific placement of hands on or above a recipient’s (fully clothed) body. Most commonly, reiki is used to ease pain, anxiety, fatigue, and depression, but since at its core is the convictions that the body in its natural state can heal any ailment, the applications, theoretically, are endless.” According to Rebolini

When walked into my first reiki appointment at Woodlands Spa, I’d like to think of myself as spiritually progressive and even though I really didn’t know what to expect – I was open to the experience. I have to admit the experience was both strange and  transformative, an hour in which my practitioner waved his hands over me and  I could smell relaxing oil with a mysterious pressure on my chest while I was in a deep sleep, it was then followed by a light, for a moment it felt as though I had left my body. That moment my reiki practitioner Barry, explained as a release of the imbalanced energy like the ocean moved by the moon . At the end of the session I felt calm and shifted like I had been somewhere and returned centred. The reiki practitioner is serene person – very insightful and intuitive . With not enough evidence to support Reiki – it can sound a little strange, but with the study of energy becoming even more popular and I can say I there was a change in my energy definitely. It’s worth a try… especially of you are a skeptic with an ailment.
